Charlotte Coffyn Wilkinson Bradgon was the daughter of Alfred and Charlotte May Wilkinson. Her mother was the daughter of Samuel J. May and was first cousin to Louisa May Alcott, and all were involved with the anti-slavery movement. Ms. Wilkinson graduated from Smith College (Class of 1894) and eventually settled in New York City where she was employed at the Henry Street Settlement.
